Who I help

A lot of people tell me they should be fine by now. Whatever happened was a long time ago, so why is it still affecting them? Why does it keep showing up — in the same argument, the same shutdown, the same relationship pattern, over and over?

Maybe it looks like a racing heart over something small. Canceling plans because today, leaving the house feels like too much. Looking "fine" at work, at home, in the group chat — while some part of you is running at a level ten that no one else can see.

Trauma isn't only about what happened. Sometimes it's about what should have happened and never did. And if you were the "good kid" growing up — the easy one, the one who never needed anything — that wasn't a personality. It was a job.

If your body still reacts like it's back in that house, or you keep landing in relationship patterns that hurt you the same way something once did, that's not you overreacting. It's old information your nervous system hasn't updated yet.

## You're _not imagining it._

A lot of people minimize what they went through, because it "wasn't that bad," or someone else had it worse, or there was no single moment they can point to and say that's when it happened. If you've spent years being dismissed, second-guessed, or made to doubt your own read on things — gaslit, love-bombed, controlled, or worn down slowly instead of all at once — that counts. Trauma is defined by its impact, not by how it compares to someone else's story.

## Who this _work is for._

[

You have a history of trauma — from childhood, a past relationship, and/or an assault of some kind

](/specialties/trauma)

You look "high-functioning" from the outside, but you're stuck in patterns that leave you frustrated, anxious, defeated, mistreated, or alone

[

You've experienced gaslighting, love-bombing, coercive control, or a relationship that slowly wore down your sense of your own judgment

](/specialties/relationship-trauma)

[

You're dealing with specific trauma symptoms — hypervigilance, nightmares, intense reactivity

](/services/emdr-therapy)

[

You've noticed a coping habit, like drinking, that's started to worry you more than it used to

](/specialties/addiction-recovery)

[

You left a relationship that hurt you and expected to feel better by now

What I work with

## Specialized care, _held with intention._

![Relational Trauma & Developmental Wounding](/__l5e/assets-v1/34080768-2dbf-4487-9c39-8a397dfc5e16/branding-78.jpg)

### Relational Trauma & Developmental Wounding

For the lasting imprint of an abusive, neglectful, or unsupportive childhood — and for what a domestic violence, assault, or emotionally abusive relationship leaves behind. Perfectionism, people-pleasing, a harsh inner critic, the sense that you're never quite enough.

### Addiction & Addictive Behaviors

For the coping that started as survival and started costing more than it gave — substances, overworking, over-functioning, the patterns underneath.

### Helping Professionals & First Responders

For the people who carry the weight of others — clinicians, nurses, medics, officers, teachers. Confidential, peer-aware care that meets the job.

How we work together

## How we _work together._

### EMDR

We use EMDR to process specific memories and incidents that got stuck — the ones that still fire like they're happening now instead of staying in the past.

### Parts Work

Drawing on Janina Fisher's framework, we make sense of the roles you built to survive — the helper, the achiever, the one who never needed anything — without pathologizing them. The goal isn't getting rid of those parts. It's letting them finally clock out.

### DBT Skills

You'll leave sessions with something concrete to use between them — skills for the moments regulation matters most, not just concepts to think about.

### Mindfulness & Body-Based Work

Insight alone rarely settles what trauma leaves in the body. Mindfulness and somatic tools help close that gap, so the work isn't only intellectual.

Depending on what fits, we use a mix of all of this — not a single fixed protocol — so you're not just understanding the pattern. You're actually changing it.

What to expect

## Beginning is the _hardest part._ Let's make it gentler.

01

### Reach out

Send a short note — name, email, and a sentence on what's bringing you in. No paperwork, no PHI.

02

### Free 15-minute consult

A short call to hear what's going on and make sure we're a good fit — yours to decide, no pressure.

03

### Begin, gently

Start with a 90-minute assessment and go from there regarding frequency of sessions. Most clients start weekly or biweekly — we'll discuss options in your first meeting and build a clear plan forward together.
